Calling all chess enthusiasts! The City of Weston is excited to host the Mayor's Chess Challenge on Saturday, October 5, and Mayor Margaret Brown invite you to stop by the Weston Community Center anytime from 10 a.m. to noon. This free, family-friendly event invites players of all ages and skill levels to enjoy a morning of chess, strategy and community fun. The Mayors' Chess Challenge is part of a countywide initiative promoting the educational benefits of chess, such as improving critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player, you’ll have the chance to test your skills against fellow chess lovers and even play alongside Weston’s Mayor Margaret Brown. All supplies are provided, so just bring your best moves! All ages are welcome. Registration is not required. |
