In accordance with Governor Cuomo and Mayor de Blasio, the Museum will not be reopening as planned. Hear more from Ronay Menschel Director and President Whitney Donhauser in this interview with NY1. View Our Outdoor Installation New York Responds Now on View   At this moment of crisis and change, the Museum of the City of New York wants to share your stories of how our city is experiencing both the COVID-19 pandemic and the uprising against police violence. The Museum has unveiled the first phase of an outdoor installation featuring some of the many images that have already been submitted to us. This will serve as a starting point for a new exhibition that will open at the Museum later this year to tell the stories of 2020 and imagine what’s next for our city. More Exhibitions Join Us at These Virtual Events For Adults New York's Communities of Color & the Police: A Historical Perspective Wednesday, July 29, 6:30pm ET Join us for a virtual discussion about how New York's communities of color have experienced and responded to the police over the decades. Historians LaShawn Harris, Carl Suddler, and Cheryl Hicks consider the complex roots of our city's (and nation's) ongoing crisis of policing; moderated by TV journalist Carol Jenkins.
