Neighborhood Leadership Academy Register Now, Classes Start February 3.
Be in the know about your city. The free 13-week course is held on Monday nights at City Hall. Each week focuses on a different department. Add the academy to your resume. Hundreds of Miami Beach residents have completed this academy.

Use Caution: Share the Road Whether You are a Motorist or a Ride a Bike, Obey the Law
Motorists: When passing a cyclist, keep a three-foot distance between your vehicle and the bicycle. Look out for approaching cyclists before opening your car door when parked.
Cyclists: You must follow traffic rules of the road including traffic signals. Ride in the same direction as vehicles and yield when making turns. Yield to pedestrians when riding on a sidewalk. Register your bicycle.

Alton Road Businesses are Open During Construction
Free Park & Ride Alton/West Loop (Trolley) Starting in February
New: January 21 - 23: Michigan Avenue will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. nightly for drainage work. Northbound and southbound traffic on Alton Road will be maintained at all times at Michigan Av. Motorists who wish to head east on Michigan Avenue will have to turn east on Dade Boulevard during these nighttime activities. Access to properties will be maintained at all times.
Overall: Southbound Alton Rd from 17 to 8 Streets is Detoured to West Av Northbound Alton Rd at 17 Street is Detoured to Meridian Avenue

Sunset Harbour Storm Water Improvements Begin
Beginning this week, storm water pump station improvements will begin at 20 Street from Purdy Avenue to Alton Road. All of the existing pump stations in the area will be upgraded to improve storm water drainage.

Be aware of littering laws. If you are feeding stray animals, food cannot be placed directly on the ground including plants or leaves and sand dunes. Also when using plates, cans or other containers, these objects must be removed immediately. Do not trespass in sand dunes.
