Celebrate the 4th of July in Hometown Style
2019 City of Weston Honors The Everyday Hero on July 4th, 2019
The 4th of July is a special day in Weston with two popular hometown events. Start the day off by participating in the 5K Run/Walk that originates from Regional Park. The race starts at 7:00 A.M.

After you cool off, dash on over to the Weston Town Center to pick your seat curbside for the Hometown Parade which begins at 10:30 AM.

This year, the City of Weston honors The Everyday Hero at the 4th of July Hometown Celebration Parade. Five everyday heroes in our community will be celebrated as Grand Marshals for the event.

Traffic Alert: Temporary Road/Lane Closures
Please beware of the following temporary road and lane closures that will take place on Thursday, July 4th:

6:00 – 8:30 A.M. | Due to the 5K Run - Race begins at 7:00 A.M.
South Post Road:  
Closed between Saddle Club Road and the Public Works Services Center, 2599 South Post Road

Weston Regional Park:  
Access to the park will be restricted
 
9:30 A.M. – 12:30 P.M. | Due to the Parade - Event begins at 10:30 A.M.
Town Center Boulevard:
North and southbound lane closures, between Town Center Circle and Indian Trace

Three Village Road:  
Closed eastbound between Town Center Boulevard and Bonaventure Boulevard

Bonaventure Boulevard: 
Closed southbound between Three Village Road and Bell Tower Lane

Come Sail Away with the Symphony of the Americas Summerfest
The Symphony of the Americas presents internationally acclaimed guest artists from around the globe this July and August in its acclaimed music festival, Summerfest, with one month of performances throughout Florida and the Americas. Set sail on a musical journey, under the baton of Artistic Director, Maestro James Brooks-Bruzzese, in the music of Hubert Parry, Vivaldi, Humperdinck, Beethoven, Tartini, Dvorak, and Mozart.

The following holiday closures and service changes will occur in observance of the Fourth of July Holiday.

  • Leon County libraries
  • Leon County community centers
  • Leon County Animal Control
  • Leon County Solid Waste and Rural Waste Service Centers and Househould Hazardous Waste Center
Remain Open for the Holidays
  • Leon County parks and recreation facilities (parks and boat landings)
Additional Service Information
The LeRoy Collins Leon County Branch Libraries will close on Wednesday, July 3, at 6 p.m. The LeRoy Collins Leon County Main Library will close at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3. The LeRoy Collins Leon County Main Library and branch libraries will resume normal operating hours on Friday, July 5, at 10 a.m.
The Leon County Solid Waste Facility and the Household Hazardous Waste Center will close Wednesday, July 3, at 5 p.m. and will resume normal hours on Friday, July 5, at 8 a.m.
In the event of an animal-related emergency, service is available by calling the Consolidated Dispatch Agency at (850) 606-5800. Leon County Animal Control encourages residents to only use this service to report dangerous or aggressive dogs, sick or injured domestic animals and animal cruelty. Injured wildlife calls will be forwarded to the St. Francis Wildlife Association at (850) 627-4151.

Los estafadores usan internet para hacer llamadas alrededor del mundo. A ellos no les importa que usted esté inscrito en el Registro Nacional No Llame. Es por eso que su mejor defensa contra las llamadas indeseadas es el bloqueo de llamadas. El tipo de tecnología de bloqueo o etiquetado de llamadas que debería usar dependerá del tipo de teléfono: móvil, línea fija convencional o una línea particular que funciona en internet (VoIP).

Llamadas automáticas pre-grabadas

Si responde el teléfono y escucha un mensaje grabado en lugar de la voz de una persona en vivo, es una llamada automática pre-grabada o robocall. Si está recibiendo muchas llamadas automáticas pre-grabadas en las que tratan de venderle algo, es probable que sean llamadas ilegales. Probablemente, muchas también sean estafas.
