Strange Bedfellows is a national traveling exhibition that explores collaborative practice in queer art making. It has been curated by Amy Cancelmo and in collaboration with Masters in Fine Arts in Curatorial Practice student Brittni Winkler under the guidance of FIU Assistant Professor of Drawing, Michael Namkung. Shot in lustrous, widescreen black and white by the great Willy Kurant (Masculin Feminin), the film opens with a man leaving his wife and daughter and, in a series of brief conversations, observed gestures, chance encounters and impulsive acts, tells the story of the relationships that flounder and thrive in the wake of this decision. The tour will use the buildings and streetscape to tell three stories: 1. how the area has been preserved and what needs to be done to continue its preservation; 2. how the designs used in the area came to be; and, 3. the history of the area that provides context for stories 1 & 2. Cost: $20.

Dying City is an original play by Christopher Shinn, following a young therapist a year after her hus­band's death, when she is confronted by his twin brother who she has been avoiding. The Washing­ton Post calls the play "A low-simmering psycholog­ical mystery, the sort of sophisticated evening that comes to a satisfying end without the burden of a thorough explanation." This event is presented by the non-profit theater group, Ground Up & Rising.
