Leon County and CONA Announce
39th Annual Neighborhood Awards Program
Each year, Leon County Government and the Council of Neighborhood Associations (CONA) recognize neighborhoods and neighbors that go above and beyond to make our community a better place to live, work and play. The 39th Neighborhood Recognition program highlights and celebrates the outstanding work done across the community by neighborhood organizations and neighbors.
The application deadline for 39th Annual Neighborhood of the Year and Neighbor of the Year is Friday, February 7.
Since the awards program began nearly 40 years ago, hundreds of neighborhoods and countless neighbors have been recognized across the county for their service and dedication to improving the quality of life in our community. The Neighborhood of Year highlights neighborhood organizations that go above and beyond in making neighborhood improvements and will receive an award sign for their neighborhood. The Neighbor of the Year Award seeks to highlight an individual who exemplifies the characteristics of leadership and service in making contributions to his or her community and will receive an award plaque.
The Neighborhood and Neighbor of the Year applications are now being accepted in the following categories:
  • Small Neighborhood of the Year- Neighborhood with 200 homes or fewer;
  • Large Neighborhood of the Year- Neighborhood with more than 200 homes;
  • Unincorporated Neighborhood of the Year- outside the city limits (Leon County unincorporated only); and
  • Neighbor of the Year.
Please email any relevant photos, video(s), or materials you would like to include in your application to CMR@LeonCountyFL.gov. Winners will be announced in February at the Leon County Board of County Commissioners Board Meeting.
