While it can’t boast high peaks or rigorous hiking opportunities, Glassy Mountain in Pickens does offer its visitors one of the most stunning views in our beautiful state – and it doesn’t take much effort to experience it. Here's why – and how – you should make the trip to Glassy a priority!

We’re proud that Southern food is celebrated in so many ways all over our state, from traditional dishes to local delicacies that are just authentically ‘South Carolina’. The city of Florence has become well-known for their love and celebration of South Carolina Pecans. And beyond the massive festival they throw each fall to commemorate this distinctly Southern ingredient, they’ve now created an entire trail dedicated to rewarding people for trying it! Read more here:

Celebrate New Years Eve in Famously Hot Style 
The largest party to welcome the New Year in the state is happening in the Capital City as Columbia once again hosts their “Famously Hot” New Years Eve celebration. There will be incredible live performances all throughout the evening, plus plenty of local food vendors and lots of bubbly. Read here to begin planning how you’ll ring in 2017 in Soda City!

ChristmasVille in Rock Hill - December 1 - 4

Fantasy of Lights - December 1 - 31
The young and old alike will marvel at this spectacular display of lighted imagery as Swan Lake Iris Gardens glitters with thousands of twinkling lights. A train's wheels spin, swans take flight pulling Santa's sleigh and angels blink with the breathtaking array of colored splendor as you drive through one of the state's largest holiday light displays.

Event 3 - Heritage
The American Heritage Festival - December 2 - 4
Come celebrate our history December 2 -4! Watch the re-enactments, take a walk through the colonial holiday village, visit the sutler tents, and grab a beer in the party tent. "Night of Light" festivities will be held on Saturday, December 3.

Crafty Feast - December 11
Stroll the market-style setup and holiday shop for the coolest, most unconventional handmade & repurposed gifts and goods from nearly 100 Southeastern artisans and makers selected for the eighth annual fair; enjoy DIY crafts; snack on food; sip on local craft beer, wine and mimosas.

Nights of a Thousand Candles - December 17
Thousands of candles and lights illuminate the garden paths of Murrells Inlet’s gorgeous Brookgreen Gardens at one of South Carolina's premiere holiday lights festivals. With musicians playing and carolers singing, come see the enchantment Nights of a Thousand Candles brings!
