Dear friends,
Today I'm delighted to share the launch of an exciting new digital resource that provides free and unprecedented access to The Museum of Modern Art's ever-evolving exhibition history, including rarely accessible documents and revealing fascinating and unknown stories.
This major project, which was once just a pie-in-the-sky aspiration, took a dedicated team of archivists—with help from colleagues across the Museum—two-and-a-half years to complete and I hope will unlock countless new discoveries for anyone curious about art and artists.
Now everyone—historians, artists, students, and art lovers alike—can explore thousands of unique and vital materials including installation photographs, out-of-print exhibition catalogues, and more, beginning with MoMA's very first exhibition in 1929.
