Legendary filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky was born in 1929 in Tocopilla and underwent an unhappy and alienated childhood as part of an uprooted family. Blending his personal history with metaphor, mythology and poetry, The Dance of Reality reflects Jodorowsky's philosophy that reality is not objective but rather a "dance" created by our own imaginations. Donizetti's opera was first performed on 3 January 1843 by the Théâtre-Italien at the Salle Ventadour in Paris.

Miami-based artist Gustavo Oviedo creates and recreates utilizing canvases, photography, vinyl, drawings, video and found objects. Oviedo is an accidental environmentalist reclaiming his own artworks or remnants of them to create new pieces. In the near future, an experiment to counteract global warming causes an ice age that kills nearly all life on Earth. The only survivors are the inhabitants of the 'Snowpiercer', a massive train, powered by a perpetual-motion engine that travels on a globe-spanning track. A class system is installed, with the elites inhabiting the front of the train and poor inhabiting the tail.

The Wolfsonian-FIU presents a new site-specific exhibit, Untitled ([construction of good)] by artist Bhakti Baxter in The Wolfsonian Bridge Tender House beginning November 29th. The installation will take place in the steel structure created in the Art Deco style outside of the museum entrance. The focus of the exhibit will be on the construction of good for mankind, focusing on how the meanings of things are perpetually shaped by their human and historical contexts.
