Has intentado jugar a “The Cir...

¿Has intentado jugar a “The Circle Game”, participar en “Blessing Loom” o lanzarte al “Money Board”?

City of Sunny Isles Beach
A Message from the City Manager, Christopher J. Russo

Beaches Remain Closed:

Understanding our limitations

(Thursday, May 21, 2020) - I have recently received a deluge of questions from residents about reopening our beach. As Mayor Scholl and I have mentioned before, the beach in Miami-Dade County is owned by the State of Florida, and Miami-Dade County holds jurisdiction over the beach as granted by the state years ago. Thus, when Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez closed all the beaches in the County, Sunny Isles Beach, as a city within the County, was required to comply with his order. And we do not have the leeway to overturn this order.

Miami-Dade County, after consultation with medical and State officials, will determine when the beach may reopen, and when that happens, Sunny Isles Beach will also let residents use the beach within the parameters set forth by the County.

The same applies to the reopening of condominium pools and gyms. As soon as Miami-Dade County allows these to reopen, the City will follow suit.

I understand this can seem perplexing. It is reasonable to expect the city to control our own beach, condos, hotels, and even our main roads, Collins Avenue and Sunny Isles Boulevard. But ultimately, the City must comply with State and County restrictions.

I continue to regularly meet (virtually) with County officials to advocate for our residents’ best interest and will provide you with the most recent updates as they become available. I know this is frustrating for some, but your patience is appreciated. The beach is the reason many of us chose to make this city our home and summer is fast approaching, but your life is precious. We need your cooperation and support to make the reopening of our city as seamless as possible. By staying positive and working together, we will remain a strong and resilient city.

~ Christopher J. Russo

Business Update for those Facing the Impact of COVID-19
Monday, May 18, 2020
The City of Miami Beach is committed to working with our community businesses and stakeholders to keep everyone informed as this pandemic continues to unfold. Please find below the latest information on mandates/guidelines as well as business resources. For a full listing information, visit www.MBbiz.com.
Letter from City Manager
Jimmy L. Morales
The City of Miami Beach is preparing to safely welcome back residents and visitors to businesses that had previously closed their doors in a collective effort to contain the spread of COVID-19.

Click here to read a letter from City Manager Morales.

Reopening Miami Beach
Following Miami-Dade County Mayor’s issuance of County Emergency Order 23-20, the city will implement its phased reopening on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 — permitting certain retail and commercial establishments, including retail stores, personal grooming establishments, offices and museums to reopen, subject to the social distancing requirements in County EO 23-20 and the city’s Phase 1 Reopening Emergency Order. The city’s order provides that restaurants and sidewalk cafes may reopen on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 as part of phase 1b.

Visit www.miamibeachfl.gov/reopening to read the mandatory guidelines and best practices for each industry. The website is currently populated with phase 1a and phase 1b guidelines.

Additionally, Ocean Drive is closed to vehicular traffic to allow restaurants in Phase 1B to extend their footprint — allowing for additional capacity. It also offers an opportunity for residents and visitors to walk or cycle this iconic street.
Restaurant Recovery Outdoor Seating Pilot Program
The City of Miami Beach intends to provide additional opportunities for restaurants to provide outdoor dining in an effort to promote the economic recovery of the city’s restaurants, as well as provide an opportunity for residents and visitors to resume dining at local businesses. Accordingly, on May 13, 2020, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 2020-31276, creating the Restaurant Recovery Outdoor Seating Pilot Program

This program is intended to be temporary in nature, and shall remain in effect through September 30, 2020, or until otherwise extended. It will supplement the city’s formal sidewalk café permit process, in a business-friendly manner and to allow for an expedited process. To this end, the city’s standard requirement for stamped engineering plans will be waived. Click here for additional details and to view the application.

Miami-Dade County Small Business Box
Miami-Dade County is committed to helping businesses get back to work. If you’re re-opening your small business and need assistance, Miami-Dade County is offering the Back-to-Business box. These boxes come with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to assist with safety requirements.

Please see the requirements for small business owners here and follow the application process for the issuance of PPE. Supplies are limited and will be provided as available on a first come, first serve basis.

To request assistance as an impacted business or employee, please email ResourceCenter@miamibeachfl.gov with your contact information and needs. All inquiries will be responded to via phone or email by a Resource Agent.

Director's Message

Dear Library Patron:
In response to coronavirus (COVID-19), the Miami-Dade Public Library System (MDPLS) will close all its library locations to the public effective Wednesday, March 18 until further notice.
During this unprecedented health crisis, we remain committed to serving the needs of the public while also working to ensure the health and safety of our patrons, staff and the community. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and follow the direction and guidelines provided by Miami-Dade County officials, the Florida Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
We know that many of you who use our library services may have some questions.
Here are some things we’d like you to know:

Online Library
While our physical locations will be closed for an undetermined length of time, our online library is open and available 24/7 through our website www.mdpls.org. We encourage you to access the many digital resources available with your library card, including eBooks, eAudiobooks, magazines, movies and music, plus online learning, training and tutoring and more.
Get an eCard (electronic library card)Those who don’t have a library card can apply for an eCard online at ecard.mdpls.org. This electronic card will provide immediate access to the MDPLS online library and other digital content.
Mobile AppOur mobile app is also a great way to access our online library and is available for free on iOS and Android.
Items Due & Materials on HoldYou do not have to worry about returning any items you have checked out. Due dates for all materials have been extended until regular operations resume. Additionally, as a fine-free library, there is no charge for overdue materials. Pickup dates for requested materials on hold have also been extended. For now, you may continue to place holds or reserve items through the Library’s catalog. We are considering alternate means of getting library materials to our patrons and will update you in the coming days.
Customer CareIf you need assistance with your library card or account or have any questions, please email our Customer Care team, available seven days a week, at customercare@mdpls.org or call your local branch.
We will continue to update you on any changes in our operations as warranted and encourage you to keep up to date on the latest COVID-19 information and resources by visiting www.miamidade.gov/coronavirus.
Thank you for being a library user.  We look forward to seeing again soon.

EEOC ANUNCIA QUE TODA LA AGENCIA TELETRABAJARÁ
WASHINGTON.
