LIBRE Joins in Commemorating the Anniversary of 9-11

LIBRE Joins in Commemorating the Anniversary of 9-11
(Washington, D.C.) - The staff and volunteers of the LIBRE Initiative join with all Americans in commemorating the anniversary of the attacks of September 11, 2001.

Daniel Garza, Executive Director of The LIBRE Initiative released the following statement:
"Twelve years ago today, the global War on Terror came home to American soil. It came to New York, and Washington, and Shanksville, Pennsylvania. And in a very real way, it came to every home in America.
Today we remember the brothers and sisters we lost on September 11. We call to mind the innocent men, women, and children who were killed simply because extremists hated America and what it stands for. We once again salute the police, the firefighters, and the other first responders who raced into danger, fully prepared to pay the ultimate price. We recommit ourselves now to honoring their memory.
Just as importantly, today is a day to thank the men and women of our Armed Services for their unwavering vigilance in our defense. These finest among us swear an oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies, and they stand ready - day or night - to give up their lives to keep America safe and free. We owe them a debt of gratitude we can never fully repay.
As Congress again considers putting our young men and women in harm's way, let us give thanks that nearly 250 years after she was conceived in liberty, America still finds souls willing to make the ultimate sacrifice in her defense. May each of us strive to ensure that we remain worthy of this extraordinary heritage."
