The Miami Beach Cultural Affairs Program, with guidance from the Miami Beach Cultural Arts Council, develops, coordinates and promotes the performing and visual arts groups in Miami Beach. Paul Donald has built a wooden bridge but plinths of various sizes positioned near the entrance of the gallery obscure a full view as well as block physical entry into the gallery. On top of the plinths are monitors on which footage of the artist building the bridge is looped. Donald re-directs our attention away from an artwork as a disembodied pure form in which neither the labor of the artist nor the viewer is important to artistic value.
