Miami-Dade County officials continue to work with local, state and federal agencies in monitoring COVID-19, part of the coronavirus family. The State of Florida has declared a Public Health Emergency.

Three board members from the Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence (FCADV) told House members they knew little about the exorbitant compensation package they approved year-after-year for the nonprofit’s chief executive.

Melody Keeth, Laurel Lynch and Angela Diaz-Vidaillet said they never intended to give former FCADV President/CEO Tiffany Carr 465 paid time off (PTO) days in fiscal year 2017 and 620 PTO days in fiscal FY18 and were shocked when she “cashed” them in after resigning in October.

Celebrate Women's History Month and International Women's Day by honoring South Florida's dedicated women leaders who make a difference in this community through their work and philanthropic ventures, at the 32nd Annual In the Company of Women Awards ceremony and dinner, Thursday, March 19, 2020, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the Coral Gables Country Club.
Join us at the Asian Cultural Festival
The Thai-American Association of South Florida together with the Miami-Dade County Asian-American Advisory Boardand the Miami-Dade Parks & Recreation Department will offer a daytrip to the continent of Asia via the 30th Annual Asian Culture Festival. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., on March 7-8, the community is invited to visit Fruit & Spice Park, 24801 SW 187th Avenue, Homestead, FL 33031. Admission to the festival is $14 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-12. Children under 6 are free.
