But an unexpected visit from Lorenzo's older half-sister Olivia changes everything. (In Italian with English subtitles.)

The film that influenced 12 Monkeys, Chris Marker's La Jetée is an essential example of science-fiction filmmaking. Marker's short masterpiece is set in a post-apocalyptic future that tells the tale of an anonymous man whose childhood recollections make him the ideal candidate for time travel. This series is presented in conjunction with the exhibition I Have Seen the Future: Norman Bel Geddes Designs America.

18th Brazilian Film Festival of Miami

The 18th edition of Brazilian Film Festival Miami is bringing back the best of the latest Brazilian audiovisual productions to Florida! This year the festival pays a special tribute to the 100th year of the great Vinicius de Moraes. For the first time, the Brazilian Film Festival will feature TASTE OF BRAZIL, a sumptuous "taste" festival where the public will be able to experience Brazil "inspired" dishes at a selection of partnering restaurants across Miami.

This unprecedented exhibition of iconic Hollywood film posters from 1939-1949 illustrates how the motion picture industry countered America's isolationism, advocated going to war against the Nazis, influenced post-war perceptions of the Jewish people and the founding of the State of Israel, and shaped the face of contemporary Jewish life.

Miami-based artist Gustavo Oviedo creates and recreates utilizing canvases, photography, vinyl, drawings, video and found objects. Oviedo is an accidental environmentalist reclaiming his own artworks or remnants of them to create new pieces. He takes this a step further with his personal interest in boating.

The Wolfsonian-FIU presents a new site-specific exhibit, Untitled ([construction of good)] by artist Bhakti Baxter in The Wolfsonian Bridge Tender House beginning November 29th. The installation will take place in the steel structure created in the Art Deco style outside of the museum entrance. The focus of the exhibit will be on the construction of good for mankind, focusing on how the meanings of things are perpetually shaped by their human and historical contexts.

Be aware of littering laws. If you are feeding stray animals, food cannot be placed directly on the ground including plants or leaves and sand dunes. Also when using plates, cans or other containers, these objects must be removed immediately. Do not trespass in sand dunes.

Tree Trimming Along Meridian Avenue
Continues through Mid-July, 8AM - 5PM

Maintenance pruning begins to the trees along Meridian Avenue between 2 and 16 streets. The work, which began June 23, is expected to take three weeks. Only one to two blocks will be affected by detours and parking closures on any specific day. Work begins at Second Street and moves northward. Notices will be posted on the day before parking closures.

Police Enforcement of Bicycle & Pedestrian Laws Underway Citywide
Motorists: When passing a cyclist, keep a three-foot distance between your vehicle and the bicycle. Look out for approaching cyclists before opening your car door when parked.

Cyclists: You must follow traffic rules of the road including traffic signals. Ride in the same direction as vehicles and yield when making turns. Yield to pedestrians when riding on a sidewalk. Register your bicycle

PedestriansObey all traffic laws. If no sidewalks are present, walk against the direction of traffic to see oncoming vehicles. Always use the crosswalk. Push the button to get the walk signal. Be visible. Wear bright, reflective colors on your clothes, shoes, belts and wristbands.

No more feeding meters. Pay for metered parking from your mobile phone using the Parkmobile app only. Beware: Using the wrong parking payment app may result in a ticket.

Registered Miami Beach residents receive 43% discounts on metered parking and transaction fees are waived on Parkmobile app transactions. Residential zoned parking decal holders have automatically been pre-registered. All others can register at the parking department.
