Miami Beach kicked off an ambitious effort to prepare an Economic Development and Revitalization Strategy Plan for North Beach. The first workshop was standing room only. The efforts continue at next workshop.
The plan will be designed to address a broad range of issues in North Beach and will incorporate existing plans, studies, initiatives, projects and programs for the area into a single comprehensive strategy document.

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles offers 11 mobile units to renew a driver license, obtain a replacement driver license, change a name or address on a driver license, get an identification card, renew a vehicle registration and purchase a specialty license plate. They also offer the Department's critical safety services such as emergency contact information registration and safety campaigns by the Florida Highway Patrol. However, no written or driving tests are given from mobile units.

Whether You are a Motorist or a Ride a Bike, Obey the Law
Motorists: When passing a cyclist, keep a three-foot distance between your vehicle and the bicycle. Look out for approaching cyclists before opening your car door when parked.
Cyclists: You must follow traffic rules of the road including traffic signals. Ride in the same direction as vehicles and yield when making turns. Yield to pedestrians when riding on a sidewalk. Register your bicycle.

Be aware of littering laws. If you are feeding stray animals, food cannot be placed directly on the ground including plants or leaves and sand dunes. Also when using plates, cans or other containers, these objects must be removed immediately. Do not trespass in sand dunes.
